Student Council 
Our Student Council is a group of nominated, elected, and volunteer students working together with an adult advisor within the framework of a constitution or bylaws to provide a means for student expression and assistance in school affairs and activities, give opportunities for student experience in leadership and encourage student/faculty/community relations.

Through projects and activities, student councils work to:
  • PROMOTE CITIZENSHIP
  • PROMOTE EXCELLENCE
  • PROMOTE SERVANT LEADERSHIP
  • PROMOTE SCHOOL SPIRIT​
  • PROMOTE CATHOLIC & TRADITIONS VALUES
​Our student council is a group of student leaders who work with an adult advisor to collaborate with others to impact our school community, which impacts our City of Paramount, which impacts our state, which impacts our country, which changes the world. They are our future leaders!!
Student Council 2021-20222
Qualifications for all offices are as follows:    
  • Officers must be in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade, and carry a “3.00” GPA on Core Subjects
  • President & Vice President must be in the 8th grade and carry a “3.00” GPA on Core Subjects. 
  • Academic scholarship grades for each quarter must be no lower than a “3.00” GPA on Core Subjects.
  • Conduct, responsibility, and effort grades for each quarter must be no lower than an A-. 
  • Teacher Evaluation Report from Homeroom teacher or ELA/Math/ Teacher.
  • For an executive position you must at least be on an active student council for a year as a commissioner. 
  • ​New students need to get a Letter of Recommendation from either Ms. Deleon or Ms. Vargas to apply for an commissioner position.
  • A rubric is used to determine the best and strongest candidates for each position.​
Elections Timeline
● August 12th –Applications go out- Mandatory Meeting at school 8:30-12:00
● August 24th —Applications Due**
● August 26th -27th —Executive & Commissioner Interviews
● August 30th —Executive Council Applicants Hang Posters
● September 3rd —Executive Council Speeches Shown and Voted Upon in Classrooms
● September 7th —Commissioner Applicants Hang Posters
● September 10th —Commissioner Speeches Shown and Voted Upon in Classrooms
● September 17th -- Executive & Commissioners Announced
